Statistics
To get some idea of where everyone lives in NZ, take a look at the census results, courtesy of the Statistics New Zealand web site.

For more information about who is running the country, latest happenings, and online forms - ranging from Lottery health grants to passport applications, it's all here at New Zealand Government Online. It's quite an interesting site...if you're into that kind of stuff.

Detailed information can be obtained about the New Zealand Coat of Arms on this site. A brief history and explanation of the coat of arms is described here. Also, detailed history of New Zealand's flag is also available.

A good education is the most important part of growing up. If you don't learn, you will not be able to strive for that career you've been looking for. The New Zealand Education International site is a good place to find what's available in terms of education institutes, overseas offices, and detailed information about what overseas students can expect when arriving.

If you live in New Zealand or arriving from another country and you are interested in finding a job here, there are many resources on the net that can help you take that step - NZ Herald's Net Classifieds, NZ Jobs, Monster, Career.co.nz, Stafflink or visit my JOBS section for further information.

Without electricity, where would we be. It's the one thing we take for granted in our every day lives. New Zealand can boast the world's most efficient power generating stations, and ECNZ has to be congratulated on this achievement. Their site is not just a glossy brochure saying how great the company is, and how wealthy they are. It is very informative about power generation and contributions to the community. It also has a detailed site map, pointing to where all the electricity generating stations are located in New Zealand.

To find exactly where that lost trig station is, or to program in your hand-held GPS, take a stroll down to the Land Information of New Zealand site. A comprehensive database of a whole host of interesting info including a list of New Zealand place names, trig stations and other survey system markers.

Who is making headlines in New Zealand? Want to find out who, where & why? Grab your daily intake of news at Stuff.co.nz. A comprehensive look at New Zealanders making the headlines. All the usual sections that make up your morning paper, displayed in an easy to read format.

Shake, rattle and roll. New Zealand experiences earthquakes like everybody else. The Institute of Geophysics has detailed information regarding the latest New Zealand earthquakes including depth, magnitude and location. Even a handy little map that pin-points the exact area.

The New Zealand Film Commission site has everything you need to know about New Zealand films, documentaries, the people behind them and much more. One New Zealand movie that sticks in my brain, has to be Bad Taste. A splatter movie to end all splatter movies
